Baking cookies at home is a fun and rewarding experience! Here's a simple recipe for classic chocolate chip cookies:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semisweet or milk chocolate)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Mix the wet ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
    • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  3. Combine dry ingredients:

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Mix everything together:

    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
    • Stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop the dough:

    • Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets. Leave space between each cookie for spreading.
  6. Bake:

    • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  7. Cool and enjoy:

    • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Serve:

    • Enjoy your homemade cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite beverage!

Tips:

  • For softer cookies, slightly underbake them and let them cool on the baking sheet.
  • You can add nuts, like walnuts or pecans, to the dough for extra crunch.
  • If you prefer, substitute the chocolate chips with white chocolate, butterscotch chips, or even raisins.

Enjoy your baking!
